Malaya Lett-Jackson's Bio
Malaya Lett-Jackson began her athletic journey in elementary school, participating in ballet, tap dance, jazz dance, and gymnastics. As she progressed into middle school, she shifted her focus toward volleyball and discovered her passion for basketball, playing as a center on her middle school basketball team.
Entering her freshman year at Bishop Gorman, Malaya quickly caught the attention of coaches who recognized her size, footwork, and playing style as ideal for what is now widely known as a “big guard.” To her surprise, this meant transitioning from her role as a center to developing skills for the guard/forward position. Initially, the adjustment was challenging, as Malaya had to prioritize aspects of the game that had not been her focus before.
Through dedicated private training sessions with reputable coaches, Malaya began to find her footing as a guard. Now, she is fully committed to dominating the game of basketball and carving out her place among the top players in the class of 2027.
Beyond athletics, Malaya is also a standout in the classroom, consistently earning A/B Honor Roll recognition. Malaya also enjoys dedicating time to charitable organizations, playing board games with her family, gaming with friends, and spending quality time with her younger brother. Supported by her parents, family, coaches, trainers, and a strong faith in God, Malaya’s foundation is built on gratitude and perseverance. She is poised to make her mark in basketball and is undoubtedly a name to watch in the years ahead.
