Mike Lee Bio
Early Life and Career
Mike Lee’s journey in basketball began with his own accomplishments as a Division I student athlete at Prairie View A&M University, where he obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Mass Communication. He further honed his skills as a student athlete at Riverside Community College and Victor Valley College, excelling on and off the court.
Firefighting Career
Before his coaching career, Mike Lee served an illustrious 30-year tenure at the Clark County Fire Department. He displayed exemplary leadership qualities as a Fire Captain before retiring in 2017.
High School Coaching Success
Coach Lee served as the interim head coach at Durango High School in Las Vegas, where he successfully led the team to a NIAA 5A State Championship in 2023. Prior to that, he demonstrated his coaching prowess at Clark High School, Del Sol Academy of Arts High School, and Centennial High School, leaving a positive impact on the players and fostering a culture of excellence.
Battle of the Badges
In 2023, Coach Lee stepped up to coach the local firefighters in the highly anticipated “Battle of the Badges” event. This event featured an exciting Police vs Fire Basketball Game, showcasing the bravery, camaraderie, and competitive spirit of Las Vegas’s dedicated first responders.
College of Southern Nevada
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) announced the appointment of Mike Lee as the new Head Coach for the Men’s Basketball Team in June 2023. With an impressive background in coaching and a wealth of experience in the basketball community, Coach Lee brought a fresh perspective and a winning mindset to the Coyotes Athletics department.
Throughout his career, Coach Lee has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the development of young athletes where he consistently inspired his teams to achieve greatness. His unique combination of athletic expertise and exceptional leadership sets Coach Lee apart as an invaluable asset to the College of Southern Nevada.
