Coach Rich Thornton is a seasoned basketball coach with a wealth of experience and a track record of success. He is currently serving as the Varsity Assistant Coach at Bishop Gorman High School, a role he has held for 12 years. In addition to his duties at Bishop Gorman, Coach Thornton is also the Assistant Director of Vegas Elite Basketball Club of the Nike EYBL.

In 2023, Coach Thornton led the Vegas Elite 17U EYBL team to the prestigious Nike EYBL Peach Jam Championship. This tournament features the top high school-aged club teams from across the country, and making it to the championship is a testament to Coach Thornton’s leadership and coaching abilities.

Before his coaching career, Coach Thornton played collegiate basketball at Dixie State Junior College in Utah and later transferred to Sam Houston State University in Texas. His experience as a player has undoubtedly contributed to his effectiveness as a coach.
