In its 39th year of honoring the nation's most elite high school athletes, Gatorade announced on March 14, 2024, that Aaliah Spaight of Bishop Gorman High School is the 2023-24 Gatorade Nevada Girls Basketball Player of the Year. This makes Spaight the fourth Gatorade Nevada Girls Basketball Player of the Year to be chosen from Bishop Gorman High School. The 5-foot-8 sophomore guard averaged 17.5 points, 7.1 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 4.4 steals per game this past season, leading the Gaels (24-4) to the Class 5A state championship. Also the 2024 Class 5A Offensive Player of the Year, Spaight averaged 23 points, 8.3 rebounds, six assists, and six steals per game in her team's three-game postseason run to the title. She shot 66 percent from inside the arc in 2024.
